Cast Steel Y-Strainers
Cast steel Y-strainers protect pumps, control valves, meters and steam traps on high-pressure and high-temperature lines by trapping debris on a removable stainless screen.
We supply flanged and butt weld cast steel Y-strainers in carbon, low-temperature and alloy steel with perforated or mesh screens.

Frequently asked questions
Why cast steel instead of cast iron?
Cast steel handles higher pressures, higher temperatures, thermal shock and hydrocarbon service where cast iron isn't permitted.
Can I add a blow-down valve?
Yes. Most cast steel Y-strainers have a tapped blow-off connection on the cover for a drain or blow-down valve.
How are screens specified?
By perforation size (e.g. 1.5 mm or 3 mm holes) and, where finer filtration is needed, a mesh liner such as 40 or 100 mesh.
