Cast Iron Globe Valves
Cast iron globe valves regulate flow using a disc that lifts off a seat in a straight line. The gradual opening gives stable throttling control, which gate valves cannot provide.
We supply flanged cast iron and ductile iron globe valves with bronze or stainless steel trim for low-pressure steam, hot water and HVAC regulating duties.

Frequently asked questions
Why use a globe valve instead of a gate valve?
A globe valve can be partly opened to set a flow rate accurately and holds that position steadily. A gate valve is only for fully open or fully closed service.
Is cast iron suitable for steam?
Grey cast iron is used for low-pressure saturated steam within its rated pressure and temperature. For higher pressures, temperatures or shock loading, choose ductile iron or cast steel.
Which way should a globe valve be installed?
Follow the flow arrow on the body. Most globe valves are installed with flow entering under the disc.
