Cast Iron Butterfly Valves
Cast iron butterfly valves control and isolate flow with a disc that rotates a quarter turn inside a short, light body. They are the most economical valve for large-diameter water and HVAC lines.
We supply wafer, lug and double-flanged butterfly valves with cast iron or ductile iron bodies, EPDM or NBR liners and stainless steel or ductile iron discs.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between wafer and lug butterfly valves?
A wafer valve is clamped between two flanges by through-bolts. A lug valve has threaded lugs, so one side of the pipe can be removed while the valve still holds pressure (dead-end service).
EPDM or NBR liner?
EPDM suits water, drinking water and mild chemicals. NBR suits oils, fuels and hydrocarbons. Tell us the fluid and temperature and we'll recommend the liner.
Can a butterfly valve throttle flow?
Yes, roughly between 20% and 80% open. For fine control over a wide range, a globe valve or control valve is better.
When should I use a gearbox instead of a lever?
Levers suit smaller sizes. From around DN200 upward, or where slow closing is needed to avoid water hammer, use a gearbox.
