Cast Steel Check Valves
Cast steel check valves prevent reverse flow on pipelines, pump and compressor discharges in oil, gas, steam and process service. They close automatically, protecting equipment from backflow.
We supply bolted-cover swing checks, lift checks and dual plate wafer checks in carbon, low-temperature and alloy steel, in pressure classes up to 2500.

Frequently asked questions
Swing check or dual plate check?
Swing checks have a full, low-resistance flow path and suit steady flow. Dual plate checks are shorter, lighter and spring-closed, so they react faster and reduce water hammer and slam.
What causes check valve slam?
When flow reverses before the disc closes, the disc slams shut and creates a pressure surge. Fast-closing spring-assisted designs such as dual plate checks reduce it.
Do check valves need a minimum flow?
Yes. Each design needs enough flow to hold the disc fully open. Oversized check valves flutter and wear quickly, so size them for the actual flow, not just the pipe size.
